Sign up Now! Stacey's Rally 2 Dog Training Class at SF SPCA

Rally 1:  Tuesdays, January 24 – February 28, 6:15-7:15 p.m

To sign up, click here.

Are you cutting edge? Do you have a smart dog? Try Rally 1, it’s a fun, fast-paced sport for dogs and their handlers. Practice basic manners and obedience while learning how to navigate a Rally Obedience course. Rally Obedience moves are based on basic obedience skills but are instead set to a course, similar to agility. And unlike competition obedience, handlers are encouraged to talk to their dogs throughout. Rally is fun for dogs and handlers and is a great supplement to your dog's basic obedience skills.

The cores of this sport are teamwork and obedience skills. This is an intermediate/advanced class which requires that your dog has a strong basic obedience foundation. You will learn the AKC Rally signs and improve your dog’s heel, stay, focus, and responsiveness to your commands. A Rally course consists of signs indicating different exercises to perform such as halt-sit-down, figure 8, and 360 degree left.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks

Class includes: Relevant handouts and Certificate of Completion

Fees: $180; $160 if dog has completed another SF SPCA class within the last year.

Class capacity: 8

Location: 243 Alabama Street

Course prerequisites: Successful completion of an Intermediate-level training course, such as Just the Basics 2, or similar courses taught through other organizations. Dogs should already have a reliable sit, down, stay, and left-sided walking. Dogs must be able to safely work around other people and dogs on leash.
